The Disclosure & Barring Service




The placing of an Order or Contract with the Company incorporates acceptance of the following Terms and Conditions.

No variation shall be binding upon the Company unless in writing by the Company.




1.This Contract is solely for the supply and installation of the goods specified on the Contract and defined on the installation schedule.

2.After signing of the Contract and by arrangement with the Purchaser, a survey by the Company’s surveyor will be carried out during daylight hours. Should the survey provide the Company with information, which in their opinion would prevent a satisfactory installation, then the Company reserves the right to cancel the order.

3.A demonstration unit is intended only to illustrate materials and mechanisms.

4.The goods listed on the Contract will be specifically manufactured to the sizes and designs agreed at the survey and included on the installation schedule.

5.Delivery and installation dates quoted are estimates only and whilst the Company will make every effort to adhere to those dates, no liability whatsoever shall attach to the Company for any delay nor shall the Purchaser be entitled to cancel the Contract or any part of it.

6.Reasonable access must be provided by the Purchaser to enable the Company to complete the installation. Should the Purchaser delay the installation by any means or for any reason whatsoever, for longer than 28 days after being notified that the units listed on the Contract are ready for installation, then the full purchase price immediately becomes payable.

7.All goods supplied and installed shall remain the property of the Company until the complete purchase price has been paid after installation is completed, such goods shall be at the Purchaser’s risk and must be paid for notwithstanding the destruction thereof or any damage thereto however caused.

8.Minor faults will be deemed remedial work and shall not delay payment due on completion of the installation. Such remedial work will be rectified promptly subject to deliveries from the Company’s suppliers.

9.The Company cannot be held responsible for damaged caused by misuse, fair wear and tear, storm or deterioration due to neglect in maintenance. Third Party Claims against the Company will not be accepted.

10.The total contract value is payable on installation of the Contract. Payment may be made by cash, cheque or bank transfer. Cheques shall be payable to the Company and crossed ‘A/c Payee Only’. Installation staff are authorised to collect all monies. Official receipts will be forwarded for all cash payments. The Company reserves the right to add interest at the rate of 2% above the current Minimum Lending Rate to all accounts not paid within fourteen days.

11.A seven-day RIGHT TO CANCEL is applicable from date of the Contract. The order may be cancelled electronically or in writing sent by recorded delivery and sent to Nøkkel, 86 Beaconglade, South Shields, Tyne & Wear, NE34 7QU. Full details as well as a cancellation form are attached

12.If work is to be carried out within the seven day RIGHT TO CANCEL period you will be asked to sign our  ‘Authority to commence work’ form which is attached. If you cancel at this stage you may be required to pay for the work already completed or goods already purchased on your behalf.

13.This Contract is not transferable without written permission of the Company.

14.The Contract price is based on costs ruling at the date of order. If the Contract is not completed within six months from the date of the Contract due to the Purchasers request or default, then the company shall have the right to increase the price to take account of any changes in costs.



GLAZING (additional terms relating to glazing only)


15.No work will be undertaken unless specified on the Contract and the removal and replacement of all fixtures if applicable such as curtains, pelmets, blinds, electrical wiring, alarm wires, T.V cables and telephone wiring etc. is the responsibility of the Purchaser at his own expense, unless specifically stated on the Contract. Ease of access to the installation area must be created and all items such as ornaments, furniture, pictured, mirrors, lights and any other items of value removed.

16.Whilst our products fitted with double-glazing generally reduce and in many cases eliminate condensation, the Company will give no guarantee in this respect nor will it accept any guarantee given verbally by its representatives.

17.Glazing fitted is obtained from reputable suppliers but no guarantee can be given against minor imperfections in glass.

18.Safety glass should be fitted in doors and other risk area installations. We recommend that all glass should meet the safety requirements of British Standards. The use of any other glass will be the decision of the Purchaser who will accept full responsibility for such a decision.

19.Trickle Vents fitted are not to Gas Regulations. Appropriate ventilation for heating systems remains the responsibility of the Customer.

20.The Company gives a manufacturers GUARANTEE of five years for PVCu frames, sealed unit double-glazing and installation defects. All mechanical fittings are guaranteed for twelve months if correctly maintained. An insurance backed guarantee as well as a deposit indemnity scheme is to be made available to cover the purchaser in the event of Company liquidation.

21.The Company will make good brickwork and plaster immediately adjacent to each unit providing the existing surround is in good condition. No responsibility is accepted by the Company for repairs or rectification of tiling, décor, rendered finishes, etc.  Missing lintels and damage resulting from missing lintels is not the responsibility of the Company.

22.Installation is restricted to the removal of old goods and the installation of new and making good in general and does not include structural alterations or repairs, unless specifically stated on the Contract.





23.Property entry can only be accepted by the authority of the owner whilst currently living at the address or by a Landlord with a County Court Order executed by the Court Bailiff where a Tennant is residing.

24.Replacement locks will be fitted of the same quality or higher.

25.The company cannot be held responsible if new replacement locks do not fit exactly into areas where the surrounding material (timber, PVCu, aluminium) has already been chopped or routed out.

26.Replacement parts such as hinges, handles, letterboxes and locks may be of a different type than the originals and the material surrounding (timber, PVCu, aluminium) may need to be modified to accept these parts and gain full operation of the window or door.





You the consumer have the right to cancel the contract if you wish and that right can be exercised by delivering, or sending (including by electronic mail) a cancellation notice to the Company at any time within the period of seven days starting with the day you receive this notice. You can cancel by delivering, sending or emailing a cancellation notice to the Company below.

Notice of cancellation will be taken to have been served when you send the notice.


Work begun prior to the expiry of the cancellation period


If you have agreed in writing that the work will commence before the seven-day cancellation period expires, and you subsequently cancel in accordance with your rights, you are advised that reasonable payment may be due for any work carried out.





I/We agree that Nøkkel may commence work before my/our seven-day cancellation period has expired.


I understand that if I decide to cancel within seven days, I may be asked to pay for any work that has been carried out prior to my cancellation.
